This bride is dangerous

Peter Blackmore, unsuccessful gambler, is offered a large sum of money to marry a girl and then divorce her. There is an attempt on his life, and eventually a mission to rescue the girl from the clutches of her evil relations. The action starts on the Cote d'Azur, moves to Algiers and finishes in the fictional town of Mion in the Haute Savoie.

This story was included in the collection Delay on Turtle, New English Library, 1962, reprinted as a hardback in the Heinemann Uniform Editon, 1971. It had previously been serialised in four parts in Suspense, Jan-Apr 1960, and published in one issue of the Toronto Star Weekly, 2 April 1960.
